Tho't you might find this imagery production of Vancouver interesting - not only for the great scenes, but the photo-technology. It is a fairly new service in our area but it is in use around the world. They specialize in low altitude Aerial Photography using remotely controlled helicopter equipped with a high resolution digital camera. Check out their website when you are finished viewing the various scenes if you are interested in the methodology.
When you go to the website page there are a few things to know:
- You can control the zoom in and out.
- You can tilt below and above the horizon.
- You will see small camera icons in the sky when you have the horizon level. If you click onto these you will get another point at which a 360 deg aerial pan has been taken - there are several locations in the metro area.
- There is a control icon on the page which toggles between full screen and not full screen. I recommend you view the sites at full screen.
- Finally, initially it will take a few moments for the site to load especially if your computer is middle-aged.
ENJOY!
